MuFo MoFo

Working on something new for the diyAudio Store today. No, it isn’t a DEF. Close cousin-ish. 🙂

Aw, what the heck.  Here’s the SIT version.  M1 is a depletion part, or even an N-SIT.  The Sony parts are low mu, so negative gain here, but that can be handled on the front end much like a tube OTL.  🙂

Mike, I would like to remind you that you are appreciated and your MOFO article was an extremely enjoyable read! In fact, I have (in the planning stages) a BIG MOFO build with a Jfet input/bipolar complementary output linestage ahead of it set for 10V/V gain (swings 10V RMS). Should make a great amp with all stages in Class A, including MOFO output in SET class A. Built in is a differential to SE converter on the input as well!

Please continue to innovate and detail your experiences!

If you have complementary pairs, you really want to build either of Nelson’s complementary VFET amps. These projects will be of greater interest to someone who doesn’t have comp pairs, or no SITs at all. 🙂

Might be a simpler way for me to use my complementary Sony Vfets than Nelson’s amp. Will the damping factor be lower than the MoFo for the SIT version using the Sonys? Many thanks.

    Thanks Mike!!
Can’t wait for the write up!
Hopefully part 2 from the “Build This Mofo!” article.
